Travel Essentials?

Your Passport, Credit Cards, and Prescription and Non-Prescription Medications are the most important items to remember. Almost everything else can be purchased in Jakarta or Bali.

How do I get to Indonesia?

Although there are no direct flights from the USA, you can transit through Tokyo, Seoul, Hong Kong, or Singapore. Layovers are usually short-between 1-3 hours. Depending on your particular cruise itinerary, you will need to arrive in Jakarta (CGK) or Denpasar, Bali (DPS). There are some direct flights from Europe to Jakarta.

How do we get to and from the airport to Sequoia?

Our crew will both pick you up and drop you off at the airport. You will be transported to the port which will take 15 minutes by car from the airport. It will then take another 10 minutes to reach Sequoia by our small tender boat.

What is the best time to travel?

Indonesia straddles the equator so the temperatures do not vary much during the year. Precipitation does vary between the dry season (June to October) and wet or green season (November to May).

Do I need Visa?

All travelers to Indonesia must be in possession of a Passport that is valid for at least six (6) months from the date of arrival and have proof (tickets) of onward or return passage. Tourists visas for up to 30 days are granted upon arrival and are free for the US and European citizens.

What sort of food can I expect?

Menus are custom tailored to each guest. We can provide you with almost any type of food that you desire. We can prepare a menu for any health or religious restrictions.

Do I need Travel Insurance?

Yes, we do recommend having your own Travel Insurance. There is always the risk of delayed or missed flights or lost luggage. Any losses may possible be recovered under your plan.

Is the Dive Insurance included in the Safari Package?

Yes, our Safari Package includes Sequoia Yacht, crew, and guest insurance, which include water activities.

What do I need to bring with me for Diving or Snorkeling?

To dive, you will need to present your PADI or equivalent dive certification card. We are equipped with 7 complete sets of dive equipment so you do not need to bring any equipment with you.

I do not SCUBA Dive. Can I snorkel or kayaking?

Yes, there are many areas to snorkel, kayak, or use the SUP.

What Sports Equipment is onboard Sequoia?

There is a wide variety of options: Three 2 person Kayaks, Three Stand up Paddle Boards, One 2 person Tube, and Water Skis.

How about electrical current and plug on board?

Both 220V and 110V with Universal sockets are available.

Is the laundry service available?

Yes, Sequoia is equipped with a full sized washer and dryer.

Is there any Internet and Cell Phones connection on Board?

Connectivity depends on location. If Sequoia is near an inhabited island, there should be a cell tower. We provided mobile phone with Indonesian SIM Card on board for your personal use. This will allow you to tether to your computer to get e-mails or surf the Internet. We also have Iridium Satellite Phone if there is a need for Emergency communications.

Is there any risk of contracting Malaria or Dengue Fever?

We recommend you to discuss with your doctor before arrival to this area at least 2-3 weeks because you may need to have take some medicine to prevent it. We recommend you to use mosquito repellant which we have on board.

Do you have a First Aid Kit and Oxygen on board in case of emergency?

Yes, we have a complete standard First Aid Kit, which includes bottled Oxygen. We also have a Philips Automatic External Defibrillator

 

Are there activities for kids?

Yes, there are many activities for kids. We provide Coloring Books, Decopath, Frisbees, Kites, Mini Billiards, and an assortment of Nail Polish, Snake and Ladder, UNO, and Waterball.

Can I bring my Photographic Equipment (Camera, Drone, GoPro)?

Yes, and we will have a place for you to fresh water rinse after use.

Do you have a Professional Photographer/Videographer onboard?

Yes, we can help you secure a Photographer but there may be additional costs.

What items should I bring to Sequoia for both water and land activities?

Sunglasses, hats, hiking shoes/socks, and swimsuits.

What can I expect to find onboard Sequoia?

Aloe Vera After Sun Lotion, Bags, Cotton Sandals, Hats, Lemongrass Bug Repellent, Reefsafe Sunscreen, Sarong, and assorted Towels.

Dive Equipment: Air compressor, Booties, Compass, Dive Tanks, Dive Torches, Fins, Masks, Pointers, Rash Guards, Reef Hooks, Regulators, Snorkels, Socks and Wet Suits of various sizes.

Daily Use Goods: Bath Towels, Full Size Samsung Clothes Washer and Dryer, Hair Dryers, Ocean Safe Toiletries (Body Lotion, Body Scrub, Body Wash, Conditioner, Cotton, Ear Buds, Lip Balm, Razors, Shampoo, Soap Bar, Toothbrush and Toothpaste).

Emergency Kit: First Aid Kit, Iridium Satellite Phone, Oxygen, and Phillips Automatic External Defibrillator.

Entertainment: Books, Bluetooth Speakers, Movie Screen and Movie Collection, Projector.

Stationary: Diary, Envelops, Pencils, Pens, and Maps.
